Who doesn't know the spherical whole cheeses of about 1.5 kg? The Edam North West. The origin of this cheese goes back a long way, in the Golden Age it was taken on ships as a trade product.

The Edammer is a 40+ cheese, slightly less fat than a normal Gouda cheese, the Edam is sold when it has been able to ripen for about 8 weeks, this creates the slightly salty but full taste.

Edam cheese is delicious on a sandwich or as a gift.
